Board of Directors Announce Langhenry Appointment, Carleton Retirement

CORTLAND – (5/28/13) Cortland Bancorp the holding company for the Cortland Savings and Banking Company (the “Bank”), announced today that the Company’s Board of Directors approved the appointment of Joseph Langhenry as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company and Bank.  The appointment is effective May 28, 2013.

Mr. Langhenry, (photo-left) will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Jerry A. Carleton (photo-right), who has served on the Board since August 2004. Mr. Carleton is Owner of Jerry Carleton Enterprises, Inc., and is a Professor Emeritus and advisor for campus planning and development at Kent State University (Trumbull).

Mr. Langhenry is the President and CEO of Watteredge, Inc., a division of Coleman Cable, Inc., which is a Cleveland-area manufacturer of power connectors and other products for the power generation, automotive and other industries. Mr. Langhenry started with Watteredge as a Sales Manager and previously worked as a bond trader for Prescott Ball and Turbin. He serves on the Board of the Lakewood Country Club. He currently resides in Westlake, Ohio with his wife Kim and twins JP and Claire.

The Corporate Governance Committee and the Board of Directors believe that Mr. Langhenry’s experiences, qualifications, attributes and skills allow him to provide valuable business leadership expertise to the Board.

Mr. Langhenry will join Board Chairman Timothy K. Woofter, David C. Cole, George E. Gessner, James E. Hoffman III, Neil J. Kaback, Joseph E. Koch, Richard B. Thompson, Anthony Vross, Executive Vice President Timothy Carney and President and Chief Executive Officer James M. Gasior on the Board of Directors for both the Company and the Bank.
